Preliminary Environmental Liability Screening (PELS) is a desktop screening process developed for property buyers. Based on your request and the available environmental information collected in our database, we evaluate the levels of the potential environmental liability associated with the properties you are interested. You can request up to 5 houses to be evaluated. With a minimum cost, PELS will be able to help you find your dream house away from the potential sources of contamination, protect the health of your family and increase the value of your property.

If required, a PELS can be upgraded to a standard Environmental Liability Screening (SELS).

Standard Environmental Liability Screening

A Standard Environmental Liability Screening (SELS) can be conducted prior to the purchase of your property. A SELS typically consists of the following tasks:

• Data Collection
• Site Visit
• Interview of the current owner
• Data Evaluation
• Reporting

A SELS focuses on the information associated with the subject property and searches the key databases required. However, a SELS does not meet the standards for a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA). If required, a SELS can be upgraded to a Phase I ESA
